If you like to shop ebay and you aren?t familiar with ?sniping,? let me introduce you to this money-saving, simple-living tip.
Sniping involves using a third-party service that places your bid in the final three seconds of the auction.
This way you don?t drive up the bidding by bidding directly on the item on the eBay listing page. In fact, other bidders have no idea that you have placed a bid.
With sniping, you decide what is the maximum amount you are willing to pay for an item, and you type that amount in to your sniping service. The sniper I use is

EZSniper uses a super-fast dedicated server that places my bid in the final three seconds of the auction and ebay takes care of the rest. That means if I bid $80 for an item via EZSniper and the highest bid anyone else has placed is, say, $21, I will pay about $22. That?s because ebay will only charge me the next bid increment over the other final highest bid ? usually about $1 on higher priced items.
It also means that if current bids are at $21 as the auction is closing, but someone else has placed a bid of $90 on the item on eBay itself, I will lose the auction. Because ebay will read my bid of $80 and then award the sale to the $90 bidder for about $81, accepting from THAT bidder only the next increment up-bid from my final highest bid (my snipe bid).
This is a really smart way to go for several reasons:
-1- You never get caught up in a bidding frenzy in which you end up paying more than you intended to for an item.
-2- Your bid is secret so it doesn?t influence other bidders to bid against you and drive up the price.
-3- On items on which no one has bid, you win for the starting price which often is insanely low.
-4- You don?t have to keep monitoring the auction and thinking about whether you want to increase your bid. It saves time because you do all that thinking up front and then just let EZSniper take care of the rest. Using EZSniper injects some peace of mind and sanity into the whole ebay bidding process.
